Angul: In a crackdown, police arrested a man named Ghanashyam Mishra and his son of Similipada area in Angul district Monday for allegedly duping a local youth on the pretext of giving him a job at a multinational company.
According to sources, the accused had duped Pranabandhu Jena of Benagadia area in Angul district of Rs 4.50 lakh on promise of helping him to fetch a lucrative job. The accused duo had accepted the money around three years ago and failed to keep their words.

Subsequently, the victim demanded his money back as he got frustrated over the approach of the father and son duo. The accused had earlier paid back Rs 80,000 to Pranabandhu in three installments.
However, the duo played mischief with Pranabandhu and did not pay the remaining amount back to him. When the youth approached them for refund of his money, they misbehaved with him. Disgusted with failure, Pranabandhu lodged an FIR with local police leading to the arrest, a police official stated.
“We have received complaint from one person based on which we have registered a case at Colliery Police station and arrested the accused. We will move court seeking their remand for further probe. We will investigate on how many people were duped by the duo,” Angul Superintendent of Police Jagmohan Meena said.
