Police ASI under Vigilance scanner over DA charge in Jagatsinghpur district

Jagatsinghpur: Separate teams of Vigilance sleuths simultaneously raided the houses of police ASI Rabindra Nath Senapati Wednesday morning, over charge of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The raids are under way in Jagatsinghpur district and Bhubaneswar.

According to a source, the searches conducted by the anti-corruption agency include his parental house located at Panchapalli area under Ersama block, a residential house at Mukundapur, his office room in Jagatsinghpur district and his flat at Hanspal area in Bhubaneswar.

The accused ASI is presently working at Tirtol court in the district.

Over 10 bank passbooks, huge gold ornaments, 3 houses worth over Rs 1.5 crore including a bank locker possessed by Senapati and his family members have been traced out by the Vigilance sleuths.

Total value of Senapati’s movable and immovable assets is yet to be ascertained as the raids are under way, a Vigilance official said.
