Bhubaneswar: A police constable and a man who claimed to be a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sunday got involved in a fistfight over a two-wheeler parking at VSS Nagar market area in Bhubaneswar, a source said.
According to a local shopkeeper, Sangram Biswal — the man who claimed to be a DSP — had parked his two-wheeler in the market. When the police constable opposed him and asked him to remove the vehicle, an argument erupted between them.
Afterwards, the argument turned into an ugly fistfight. The constable sustained injuries and was shifted to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar for treatment, the source informed.
An FIR was lodged at Saheed Nagar police station in this regard. Police have detained Biswal. Later, a statement issued by police stated that Biswal is an imposter.
It can be mentioned here that the local police outpost deploys a constable in VSS Nagar area to control the heavy traffic in the local market.
