Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police Thursday exhumed a partially-buried body of an unidentified youth at Bali Yatra ground under Mancheswar police limits in Bhubaneswar.
According to a police official, the body was recovered from sand in presence of a local magistrate. Bhubaneswar DCP Umashankar Dash, a scientific team and several other police officials were also present at the spot. No traces of injury on the body of the deceased could be found during the preliminary probe, a senior official said.
Meanwhile, the scientific team has started conducting a 3D scan of the recovered body. Seized clothes and footwear collected by the Commissionerate Police from the location will also be thoroughly scrutinised.

Later in the day, it will be sent to AIIMS-Bhubaneswar for postmortem. Identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
“Probe will be primarily based on missing reports registered in local police stations,” DCP Dash informed.
Notably, some locals spotted the body of the youth Wednesday afternoon. Later, they informed about it to Mancheswar police.
