Kasauti Zindagi Kay, which featured the complicated love story of Prerna and Anurag, was a popular TV serial that was on air for seven years and had all the elements of a typical family drama.

It is 17 years since the show was first aired and became a major success. Now producer Ekta Kapoor is ready with a reboot of the series and has said she will be “lacing it with experiences of an older me.”

The first promo of Kasauti Zindagi Kay 2 was released recently. The promo features Erica Fernandes as Prerna and Parth Samthaan as Anurag Basu.

Orissa POST asked a few youngsters whether they were looking forward to the new version of Kasauti Zindagi Kay.

Garima Bakshi, accounts executive in a Delhi-based PR firm, is excited about the return of the show after a long hiatus.

“During the 90s, Ekta Kapoor’s serials used torule the TV industry. I used to follow almost all the serials but Kasauti Zindagi Kay was my favourite as I loved the chemistry between Anurag Basu (Cezanne Khan) and Prerna (Shweta Tiwari). I used to watch this show with my mother every evening after completing school assignments.

“I am looking forward to the new season of this series. I want to see how the characters have evolved. The most interesting part is that Hina Khan will be playing the role of Komolika. I really want to see Hina’s version of Komolika,” Garima adds. The evil Komolika was played by Urvashi Dholakia in Kasauti Zindagi Kay.

Delhi-based Ritika, who works with Wipro, is expecting Kasauti Zindagi Kay 2 to be as popular as the first version.

“I used to religiously follow the serial and now that it is making a comeback with fresh faces, I am really excited. The show was quite popular those days so I am expecting the same popularity for it now as well. I am looking forward to a great cast and a nice story not to be repeated,” she says.

Namrata Dagia, a clinical psychologist and counsellor from Mumbai, says, “As a kid, I used to watch the show and remember my family used to be glued to the TV when it was being aired. It had an interesting story with many twists as is common in daily soaps. It would be interesting to see how the story evolves in the sequel and how much of the essence of the earlier story is present in it. I am also waiting to see if the new actors can recreate the chemistry between Anurag and Prerna in the earlier version.”
