Bhubaneswar: India Post will release a postage stamp to commemorate the 75th foundation day of Utkal University here. Santosh Kumar Kamila, Chief Post Master General, Odisha Circle, said that the Union Ministry of Communications and Technology has approved a proposal in this regard.
He added, “The university will decide on the date release of the postage stamp. The proposal was approved August 10 by the ministry, but it takes time to communicate matters with regional offices.”
The university’s 1992 Vani Vihar alumni batch first came up with the idea three years back and the proposal was sent to the ministry about two years ago through India Post.
Established in November 27, 1943, the17th oldest university in the country is planning to celebrate its platinum jubilee and launch of the postal stamp in a grand fashion.
