Berhampur/ Sambalpur: BJP workers Friday scuffled with police in front of Berhampur Tata Power office during their ongoing state-wide protest against frequent power cut in Odisha, said a source.

According to the source, the scuffle broke out in Berhampur after some of the BJP activists tried to enter the Tata Power office during the protest.

The source further added, BJP activists in Sambalpur also organised a protest in front of the Tata Power office in Ainthapali. The protesters criticised the state government for the plight of the consumers amid the ongoing heatwave in several districts of the state.

Similar protests in Kantabanji town of Balangir district were also organised citing irregular power supply in the region.

The heatwave conditions have made it nearly impossible to live a normal life and power outages have added to the misery of residents in many sections of the state, a protestor opined.
