Bhubaneswar : Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan Sunday inaugurated the main campus of the Skill Development Institute (SDI), Bhubaneswar at Taraboi Village, Jatni in Khurda. The Institution is managed by Indian Oil Corporation.
Pradhan said, “Skill India is a flagship project of Government of India launched July 15, 2015. As part of the project, all PSUs in the oil and gas sector such as IOCL, ONGC, GAIL, BPCL, HPCL, OIL, EIL and Balmer Lawrie joined hands for setting up skill development Institutes across India which is one of such unique CSR initiative by MoP&NG.”
Pradhan added “I am happy to know that reputed employers, recruiters have shown their interest for preferring SDI trainees for recruitment. Odisha got the Petroleum Ministry’s first Skill Development Institute (SDI) in the state capital with Indian Oil as the anchor investor and managing company.”
Pradhan also announced that PSUs under Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas have taken up various CSR projects to upgrade the educational facilities in 17 Districts like Angul, Balasore, Baragarh, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Deogarh, Dhenknal, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal, Kendrapada, Khurda, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Puri and Sambalpur.
