Bhubaneswar: Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan Saturday deliberated on the importance of bio-CNG generation from agricultural produce at a valedictory function of Agri Vikas-2018 here.
Addressing farmers and students, Pradhan said how bio-CNG could contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mission of reducing dependence on imported fuel. He pointed out that it (bio-CNG) would also increase the income of farmers.
Secretary of Ministry of Food Processing Industries Jagdish Prasad Meena spoke about employment opportunities created by Central schemes in food processing, cold storage, food parks and warehousing like Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana.
Secretary of Department of Agriculture Sobhana K Pattanayak stressed on crop selection basing on the given soil conditions and climate for optimal output. He also highlighted the massive opportunities in export linkages, solar drying and bio-fuel.
