Pradhan questions Naveen’s silence on scam

Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Sunday, attacked Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik alleging that the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is deliberate in its delay in refunding the hard- earned money of those duped in the chit-fund scam.

Pradhan said that the state government had promised refund in 2013. The chief minister even created a corpus fund of Rs 300 crore ahead of the 2014 polls, thus giving hope to the common people but now it’s clear that it was just  to hoodwink the gullible investers.

On extending the tenure of Justice MM Das Commission probing the case by six months, the Union Minister said that this is a deliberate attempt to delay the refund process. This only leads to delay of justice.

“The hard earned money of Odia people has been looted under the patronage of Ministers, MP, MLAs and leaders of the ruling BJD. CM Naveen has been lying to the duped investors repeatedly. Why are the ruling party members so reactive if the CM is termed a liar? Allegations of CM duping honest Odia’s have been proven,” Pradhan tweeted.

In a series of tweets, the Union minister questioned the link between the chief minister and Saroj Sahoo. He also questioned the silence the CM maintains in spite of the questions directed at him regarding the chit-fund scam.
