Pradhan seeks CM’s intervention in stir by section, ministerial officers

Bhubaneswar: Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan in a letter to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has sought the latter’s intervention into the stir by members of Odisha Heads of Department Section Officers’ Association and Odisha Heads of Department Ministerial Officers’ Association.

Pradhan had received a petition from the two associations wherein a request has been made for immediate implementation of new cadre restructuring norms.

The Union Minister said it was stated in the letter that the new norms have been approved by the CM April 16 but the associations alleged that the directives issued have not been compiled by the administration.

“The members are still working as Junior Assistants, Senior Assistants, Section Officers, Establishment Officers and Senior Establishment Officers in Heads of the Departments. They wanted their cadre to be restructured and convert their posts to Assistant Administrative Officers (AAO), Joint Administrative Officers, Administrative Officers, Senior Administrative Officers, Chief Administrative Officers-I and Chief Administrative Officers-II and AAO should be the entry level post,” Pradhan said in the letter.

The associations have decided for an indefinite stir until their demands are met, which shall adversely impact the administration and cripple the governance, the Union Minister said requesting Patnaik to resolve the issue on top priority.
