Prateek Chaudhury tops Odisha in JEE Main

Bhubaneswar: Prateek Chaudhury has topped the state in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) – Mains, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The results were announced Monday.

Prateek, a student of SAI International school here, has emerged on top with All India Rank – 26 by scoring 99.99 percentile. He has now set his target to crack the JEE Advanced exams.

According to official data, as many as 24 candidates have received 100 NTA scores (percentile) in JEE Main January 2019 and April 2019 examinations. The best score of the two exams will be considered for being shortlisted for admission in various institutes and also as eligibility for JEE Advanced.

While Subhan Srivastava is the all India topper, Kevin Martin of Karnatak, Dhrub Arora of Madhya Pradesh, Joyesh Singla of Punjab and Batttepati Karthikeya have secured second, third, fourth and fifth position respectively.

Another Odisha student Sambit Behera, who was undergoing coaching at Kota in Rajasthan, has secured 11th position.

The examination was conducted through Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.  A total of 11,47,125 candidates appeared for Paper I of JEE Main 2019 in January and April examinations. The first set examinations were conducted between January 8-12, 2019 in two shifts and the second set JEE (Main) examinations were conducted April 7- 10 and 12, 2019.
