Balasore: A pregnant woman was carried on cot for nearly 1.5 kms as the ambulance could not reach the village due to bad road condition in Padasahi under Remuna block in Balasore district.
According to reports, the woman identified as Jayanti Singh complained of labour pain Sunday morning following which her family members contacted 102 ambulance service. Though the ambulance staff responded, they could not reach the patient due to non-motorable and narrow road leading to the village.
With no other option, the family members along with some villagers carried Jayanti on a cot through the uneven muddy road to reach the ambulance.
Later, Jayanti was taken to the Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in the 102 ambulance.
