Chennai: The Indian Premier League auction for 2021 was held in Chennai, Thursday.
Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta could not control her excitement after securing the signing of batsman Shahrukh Khan.
Shahrukh joined Punjab Kings for Rs 5.25 crore and his base price was just Rs 20 lakh.
Shahrukh is a 25-year-old is a big-hitting middle-order batsman who is quick to get the 30s and 40s that are so important in T20. Making his T20 debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2018, he was soon noticed for his skills and became popular playing in the Tamil Nadu Premier League.
A video of Preity reacting to Sharukh’s signing has gone viral on social media. Following the bid, an excited Preity turned to the Kolkata Knight Riders’ table and screamed “We got Shahrukh.”
The fact that there are two Shahrukhs in this year’s IPL did not go unnoticed by the internet and Preity’s very obvious enthusiasm at scoring SRK went viral on social media.
