Processing for SPC begins in Angul

Banarpal: 44 students of Angul High School Wednesday received police (khaki) and drill (white) uniforms. Marking the beginning of the process which launches, student police cadets, (SPC) in the line for national cadet corps, (NCC).

In the presence of Angul additional superintendent of police (ASP) Jadunath Hansda, Angul police station IIC Ramesh Chandra Bisoi, headmistress Madhusmita Nanda, teacher and SPC coordinator Asutosh Mohapatra, the process was started within the school premises at noon.

The inauguration of the SPC in the district, fixed December 1 might get delayed; as it is yet to be finalized, which head the money will be spent from.

Regarding the formation of SPC, Angul police informs that the relationship between police and public often gets sour and they don’t have a good understanding. These cadets will help bridge the gap between police and public.

These cadets from Class VIII have been selected for two years. They will attend one or two training classes in a week.

Apart from the drill, these cadets will be given training on forest department and excise department laws, traffic rules, discipline and how to remain united.

From the next year, a female teacher of the institution will be made involved with the SPCs.

Each of the students received one pair of police uniform, one cap, one pair of shoes, one batch with SPC written on it, one lanyard, one whistle and one pair of white uniform for drill class.
