Bolangir: The Jagannathpada Community Durga Puja here is known for its unique idol, the stage and the pandal decorations over last 27 years.
This year the idol and the pandal have been beautifully decorated as per Rajasthani vaastu shastra.
The members of the Puja Committee were checking out various sites on the net to pick a theme for this year’s Puja pandal, and artiste Rabindra Narayan Naik suggested the ancient Rajasthani vaastu shastra to which the panel immediately agreed.
Artist Naik has incorporated all the remarkable elements of Jaipur vaastu shastra as it is said the city was planned according to the ancient science of architecture.
Idol maker Murali Biswal, who has been the first choice of the committee for last 25 years, has also left no stone unturned to give the idols a Rajasthan vaastu shastra touch.
This year the budget has crossed Rs 3 lakh, a whopping amount for a puja committee of this locality.
Committee president Chaturbhuj Rout, vice president Kamal Lochan Sai, secretary Jadumani Sai, joint secretary Purna Chandra Rout, treasurer Pramod Badhia and other members said that the committee’s Durga Puja has come this far only because of the cooperation of Jagannathpada residents.
Sticking to tradition, this year too Sundarakand Ramayan Parayan and Baithaki Kirtan are featured in the cultural programme.
Pandal hoppers have been gathering at the Jagannathpada Community Durga Puja pandal from ‘Saptami’ to have a look at the decorations. Some were also seen taking selfies with the decorations as backdrop.
