New Delhi: Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi Friday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here.

Mehndi was welcomed into the party fold by Union Minister Vijay Goel at the party’s Delhi unit office.

Former Indian cricket superstar Gautam Gambhir and Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari were also present at the event when the Punjabi singing sensation joined the party.

Mehndi’s daughter is married to a son of Hans Raj Hans. The latter joined the BJP in 2016 and replaced Udit Raj, who joined the Congress party recently, as BJP’s candidate from northwest Delhi in the 2019 general elections.

Full of stars from the entertainment industry, the BJP continues to add star power to its cadres ahead of the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections.
