Puri: The Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Ranjan Das Thursday supported the demand made by Daitapati Nijog regarding a dress code for devotees visiting Srimandir.

Das requested the devotees visiting the 12th-century shrine to wear clothes that are in line with the temple’s spiritual atmosphere.

Das went on to say that the dress code has been implemented in various temples across the country. Steps will be taken to implement it at Srimandir once a decision in this regard is taken.

Notably, Daitapati Nijog Wednesday said that devotees wearing Western clothes should be provided a changing room to change clothes and enter the temple wearing appropriate clothing.

It can be mentioned here that from October 20, 2021, the dress code for servitors has already been made compulsory by SJTA. As per the dress code, servitors are required to wear dhoti, towel, and patta while performing puja.
