Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee (SJTMC) which was reconstituted by the state government August 12 will hold a meeting at 11 am Thursday. Puri Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb will reportedly preside over the meeting.
The meeting will be attended by the Chief Administrator, district Collector and SP as well as all the 10 new members of the managing committee nominated by the state government.
The 10 members of the managing committee are Ashok Kumar Mohapatra, senior advocate of Orissa High Court (representing Mukti Mandap), Madhab Chandra Pujapanda (representing Pujapanda Nijog), Jagannath Kar (Montu Singhari) (representing Pushpalak Nijog), Madhab Chandra Mohapatra (representing Pratihari Nijog), Ananta Tiadi (representing Suar Mahasuar Nijog), Durga Prasad Das Mohapatra (Daitapati Nijog), Mahant Ramakrushna Das of Radhaballav Matha (representing Math & other institutions), Sarat Chandra Bhadra, Chartered Accountant, Padma Bhusan Dr Ramakanta Panda and Padma Shri awardee sculptor Sudarshan Pattnaik.
Involving the new members, sub-committees of various departments will be formed at the Thursday meeting, it was learnt.
This apart, various topics pertaining to the temple will also be discussed. While the management of Rath Yatra in the coming years may find a place in the agenda, the construction of Srimandir’s heritage corridor, servitors’ welfare and other developmental works may also be discussed.
