Bhubaneswar: Purnendu Shekhar Mishra of Bhubaneswar has been appointed as the member of Railway Board, Traffic. Prior to the new posting Mishra was the General Manager of South Eastern Railway. He was in charge of East Coast Railway (ECoR) for a few months.
Mishra joined the Indian Railways Traffic Service in 1982. He has acquired vast knowledge and experience in train operations after joining in Indian Railways.
Mishra worked in various important capacities like advisor/safety and executive director (Corporate Communication), Railway Board and Divisional Railway Manager/Raipur in South East Central Railway/Bilaspur and chief operations manager in Western Railway. He has worked previously in many crucial posts in ECoR.
Mishra has taken the charge of a most crucial post in Railway Board at a time when many important projects are in critical stage of construction or commissioning. It is expected that he will take up various issues facing ECoR and other parts of this region with various stakeholders, including state governments, and other departments to expedite infrastructure projects.
