Quake in north Odisha

Balasore/Baripada: Many parts of north Odisha were hit by mild tremors Tuesday evening.

A moderate quake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale with its epicentre at Hugli in West Bengal was felt in Jaleswar, Basta, Bhograi and Nilagiri, Baripada, Anandapur, Bhadrak and a few other places in north Odisha at 6.33 pm, a report said.

People were seen rushing out of their houses and got panicked as they felt tremors in Badasahi, Betanoti, Suliapada and other areas in Mayurbhanj district in the evening hours of Tuesday.

On August 9, a mild earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale had been felt in several parts of Odisha.
