Railway station wall beautification begins

Bhubaneswar: The walls of city’s railway station are all set to get a makeover as the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has given its approval to the beautification project undertaken by Canara HSBC OBC Life Insurance.

The institution’s flagship initiative ‘meformycity’ has been green-signalled for the city, and the painting work has started. It was launched in association with Radio Mirchi in 2018 to clean the cities and beautify its walls. The graffiti also aims at spreading messages of cleanliness and hygiene.

The Railways has suggested to focus on the tourist spots of the state for the #meformybhubaneswar paintings such as Lingaraj Temple, Khandagiri, Udaygiri, Nandankanan, Konark Temple and Chilika Lake.

“The project will be completed in a week,” said a Railway official.

This year, meformycity has aimed to reach 12 cities across the country. The initiative covered 10 cities in 2018 and received great response on social media.
