London: Incessant rain washed out the morning as well as the post-lunch sessions on day one of the second Test between India and England at the epic Lord’s ground here, Thursday.
The players did not even step out for warm-ups due to the rain, lashing the city since Wednesday night. Low hanging clouds and a lack of wind meant that the weather conditions were quite unlikely to change. The match officials decided to take an early lunch, moving the scheduled break ahead by 30 minutes.
There is more rain forecast for this weekend as also Monday, and as such this match could see routine rain breaks. England are leading the five-Test series 1-0 after winning the first Test in Birmingham by 31 runs.
