Rains expected in southern Odisha in next 24 hours

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Department has now been predicting spells or rains and thunderstorms in the southern parts of Odisha citing the cyclonic circulations over the eastern parts of Vidarbha and its neighbourhood.

“Rains are likely to occur at one some places in the districts of south Odisha ,Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Balasore districts of Odisha.  Dry weather is likely to prevail over the rest of the districts in the next 24 hours on Jan 28,” the department bulletin said Sunday.

In their state bulletin Sunday, the met department said, “The cyclonic circulation at 1.5 km above mean sea level over eastern parts of Vidarbha and neighbourhood has become less marked. Light rain has occurred at one or two places over the districts of interior Odisha and weather has been dry over the districts of Coastal Odisha. Shallow fog has occurred at isolated places over the district of Keonjharh of North Odisha.”

It also added, “Minimum temperatures observed not much change and were normal over Odisha. The highest maximum temperature of 32.8 degree C was recorded at Malkangiri and the lowest minimum temperature of 10.00 degree C was recorded at Sundargarh in the plains of Odisha.”
