Rajesh Touchriver to direct Bullet Raja

Bhubaneswar: National award winning director Rajesh Touchriver will direct the Sridhar Martha produced movie Bullet Raja which is based on the Patnagarh ‘Parcel Bomb’ incident.

Martha made the announcement before reporters at the press meet poster launch of the movie here Wednesday in the presence of the actors.

Rajesh Touchriver who has worked with the National School of Drama, New Delhi, as a designer in 1995, has directed over 30 plays in Malayalam, English and Telugu.

His 2002 film ‘In the Name of Buddha’ was screened in the Spotlight on India Section at the Cannes Film Festival, 2003.

Actor Manoj Mishra, who will portray Arun Bothra role (CBI officer who solved the case), said “Working on such a project with acclaimed director Rajesh is a long cherished dream of mine. His movies are realistic. They have won many national awards. I am looking forward to working with him.”

The actor said he had to work hard to ensure that his portrayal of CBI officer is taken in a positive way by audience.

Director Rajesh Touchriver, who was also present at the poster launch said, “The way the parcel bomb crime was plotted, its execution and the ultimate discovery of truth through a painstaking probe is really engrossing. This movie will be a revenge saga, inspired by true events. It would depict a variety of emotions like love, jealousy, wrath, revenge and connivance.”

The film would be shot in and around Bhubaneswar. Hara Rath would play Punjilal Meher, the English lecturer, the key accused in the case. The shooting will commence in July.

“A college lecturer spends hours preparing a bomb to kill a professional rival. In turn, he wipes her entire family which will make the plot interesting for the viewers,” said the director Rajesh.
