Rajinikanth fell in love with the girl who had come for his interview

Mumbai: Superstar Rajinikanth is celebrating his 69th birthday, Thursday.

Fans of South Indian movies worship Rajinikanth as a god. Even at this age, the legendary actor plays the lead role in films and his movies are always super hit at the box office.

Rajini’s fans bathe his posters with milk before his films hit the theatres. Fans queue outside the ticket window of theatres from 4 am to watch his movies.

Today on his birthday, we will tell you about the person without whom Rajinikanth considers himself incomplete. She is none other than his wife Lata. Since Lata married Rajinikanth, she has stood like a pillar next to him even during the worst of times.

In 1980, Rajinikanth was shooting for Balachander’s Tamil film Thillu Mullu. It was the actor’s first comedy film.

Rajinikanth received a request for an interview from a college magazine during the shooting of this film. The woman who was to take the interview was none other than Lata Rangachari. Rajinikanth reportedly fell in love with her at first sight.

Both were very comfortable during the interview because they both had a Bangalore connection. Post interview, Rajinikanth proposed Lata for marriage. Lata was surprised to hear Rajinikanth’s proposal. However, Lata smiled and said that she would have to talk to her parents.

The two immediately decided not to meet the parents and gave each other some time. Rajinikanth told this to his close friend and Tamil cinema comedian YG Mahendran. Lata’s sister was going to marry Y G Mahendran.

Rajinikanth was quite nervous but Lata’s parents agreed and they got married 26 February 1981.
