Bhubaneswar: A two-day Indian fashion exhibition by SUTRAA was inaugurated in the capital city Thursday. With around 50 stalls, the special expo showcased collections for Rakhi and Teej festivals and witnessed a huge footfall.
Tanjore rakhi and decorative items, made from a mixture of slate and clay, were some of the new introductory products for Rakhi festival. The jewellery section, which dazzled with tassel as well as Swarovski earrings, wooed many hearts.
To fathom the excitement, Orissa POST interacted with a few buyers.
Bhavana Tripathy, a loyal follower of SUTRAA exhibition, said this edition of the expo does not offer anything particularly new, except some exquisite dresses and Rakhis as well as some home decorative stuff.
However, Nischala Singh, who drove all the way from Cuttack, was heels over head with the collections which she found to be quite unique and attractive. “Both Teej and Rakhi are around the corner, so, I have come with my mother-in-law to buy something for my brother and sister-in-law”, a jovial Singh said.
Meanwhile, there were many who found the apparels ritzy and queued up to buy gold plated mangalsutra bangles. One of them was Simran Wajwa who bought two pairs of chuuda for her first Teej at her in-laws’.
The Jaipur-gowns were in the highest demand and were sold out within an hour. Another unique exhibit was from Adornment Mumbai that showcased bracelets with designer watches with one year warranty.
