Bantala: Ramaswamy P, a 2010 batch Indian Forest Service officer, joined as the new divisional forest officer (DFO) of Satkosia wildlife division in Angul district Tuesday. Ramaswamy joining as the new DFO of Satkosia assumes significance amid the chain of violent incidents plaguing the sanctuary following the death of a woman and a farmer in alleged attack by the Royal Bengal Tigress Sundari.
Ramaswamy succeeds DFO SMDT Raheman who was transferred after the area around the sanctuary witnessed widespread violence due to the death of a woman in Hatibari village. Ramaswamy was earlier working as the DFO of Ghumusar north division. He took charge from Angul DFO V Kartik who was also in charge of Satkosia after the transfer of Raheman.
Saroj Panda, IFS, who is also a tiger expert took charge as the new assistant conservator of forests (ACF) in Satkosia Monday. He was earlier posted as the ACF in Jharsuguda.
