Ramp show focus on ‘inherent beauty’

Bhubaneswar: A ramp show conducted for acid attack victims as part of the International Health and Beauty Expo was organised by Gupta Event Management here at Janata Maidan here Friday.

Acid attack survivors Pramodini Roul along with Manini Bisoi from Ganjam district, Aanshu Rajput, Rupa and Pala Prajapati from Lucknow took part in the ramp show.

Professional models wearing alta on their feet walked the ramp to showcase the dying tradition of Odisha, Bihar and Bengal on the occasion.

Interacting with Orissa Post Pramodini aka Rani said, “My fiance Saroj Sahoo and a team of medical professionals from Chennai helped me see the world. Now, I have a visibility of 28 per cent. The ramp show amid the cheering crowd has encouraged me to live a life beyond facial beauty.”

Sujit Kumar Gupta, head of Gupta Event Management, said, “We have organised this ramp show to create awareness about beauty which is represented by the character of the acid attack victims”.

Saroj Sahoo said, the ramp show is meant to generate awareness about acid attacks. Girls like Pramodini need to be encouraged to live their life with dignity and love. People’s support and affection fills tears in my eyes. I personally thank the organisers who have offered such a great platform to these survivors. I am sure, people will become conscious about such social evils”.

Supreme Rakta Jaba Alta CMD Sanjay Gupta, event management CEO Payal Acharaya Gupta and social worker Subhashree Das were present on the occasion.
