Bhubaneswar, August 1: All Orissa Chess Association (AOCA) vice-president Ranjan Mohanty has been appointed as the manager of the Indian Chess contingent for the forthcoming Asian Youth Chess Championships at Suwon, South Korea August 3-11. A 42-member squad accompanied by four coaches will be representing India in this prestigious tournament.
Taekwondo Championships
The All Orissa Open Taekwondo Championship, organised by Orissa Taekwondo Association was inaugurated by housing & urban development minister, Puspendra Singh Deo at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Cuttack, Saturday. One hundred and eighty one participants from 18 districts of the state are participating in the event.
Coaching course
Three coaches from Orissa have been selected to take part in the FIFA women’s refresher coaching camp organised by All India Football Federation (AIFF) at Gwalior, September 14-18. They are Sradhanjali Samantray, Gitanjali Khuntia and Sarita Jayanti Behera. Thirty coaches across the country will participate in the camp, which will focus on the modern training aspects of football.
