Bhubaneswar: A Rasagola counter was inaugurated by Additional Chief Secretary of MSME Department, Laxmi Narayan Gupta, at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here Friday.
“Opening of the counter of Salepur’s famous Rasagola at an international airport for the first time will provide ‘Odisha Rasagola’ an identity at national and international level”, said Gupta.
The opening of the counter comes ahead of the men’s hockey World Cup from November 28 in the city which is expected to draw a large number of visitors.
The counter will remain open 24 hours a day informed Prashant Kar, owner of the outlet.
For the time being, different varieties of Rasagolas and other delicacies including 15 types of savoury snacks will be available at the counter.
Various other kinds of sweets will soon find their place in the counter, added Kar.
BPIA Director Suresh Chandra Hota and other dignitaries including businessmen, researcher and scientist were present on the occasion.
