New Delhi: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is all set to fill up 450 vacancies of assistants. Interested candidates fulfilling all the eligibility criteria can submit the online application at opportunities.rbi.org.in. The application window is open from today till October 4 and the payment window will be also open till October 4.
A. Eligibility criteria for RBI Assistant recruitment
Nationality: Applicants must be Indian citizens or citizens of Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibetan refugees who arrived in India before January 1, 1962. People of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and certain East African countries with the intent of permanent settlement in India are also eligible. However, they must possess an eligibility certificate from the Government of India.
Age limit: Candidates should be between 20 and 28 years old as of September 1, 2023. This means that those born between September 2, 1995, and September 1, 2003, are eligible. Reserved category candidates may receive age relaxation.
Educational qualification: Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks. The bachelor’s degree should be obtained by September 1, 2023. SC, ST, and PwD candidates have no minimum marks requirement but should have a bachelor’s degree in pass class. Ex-servicemen must have at least 15 years of defence service, along with graduation or matriculation or its equivalent examination.
Language proficiency: Candidates applying for a post in a specific recruiting office must be proficient in the language spoken, read, written, and understood in the respective state under the recruiting office.
B. How to apply for RBI Assistant recruitment:
Step 1: First go to the official website at opportunities.rbi.org.in
Step 2: Then, click on current vacancies option and select the link for Assistant
Step 3: Next, click on the link for new registration option
Step 4: Enter the required information
Step 5: Once registered, login using your credentials
Step 6: Fill the online application form and upload the required documents
Step 7: Save, submit and pay the application fees
Step 8: Download your application form
The exam fee for open, EWS and OBC categories is Rs 450 + 18 per cent GST and for SC, ST, PwD and Ex-Servicemen it is Rs 50 + 18 per cent GST. For existing employees, there is no fee.
C. Examination pattern of RBI assistant recruitment:
Preliminary exam: Both the preliminary and main examinations consist of multiple-choice questions. The preliminary examination comprises three sections:
- English Language (30 questions) worth 30 marks
- Numerical Ability (35 questions) worth 35 marks
- Reasoning Ability (35 questions) worth 35 marks
The duration of the preliminary examination is 60 minutes, and the maximum score is 100 for a total of 100 questions.
Main examination: This includes five sections.
- Reasoning (40 questions) worth 40 marks
- English Language (40 questions) worth 40 marks
- Numerical Ability (40 questions) worth 40 marks
General Awareness (40 questions) worth 40 marks
Computer Knowledge (40 questions) worth 40 marks
The total marks for the main examination are 200, and there are 200 questions in total. The duration of the main examination is 135 minutes.
