Karlamunda: A bridge in Karlamunda block in Kalahandi district has collapsed partially near the Rinja-Sarabara canal adding to the woes of the villagers in the region.
One side of the bridge has collapsed during heavy rain fall last August, but the departmental officers do not seem to be concerned. So far, they have not shown any interest in either repairing the bridge or facilitating road communication in the area. As a result, the spot has witnessed several accidents in recent times.
Local villagers alleged that in spite of their repeated complaints to Rural Development department, the officers are yet to initiate any step to repair the bridge. They have appealed to the Kalahandi district Collector urging him to resolve the issue.
