Bhubaneswar: Odisha health department Tuesday said that record 1,409 persons who earlier tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered and are being discharged.
Out of the 1,409 persons, 84 are from Koraput, 68 from Cuttack, 58 from Balasore, 34 from Nabarangpur, 30 from Kandhamal, 25 from Jajpur, 24 from Malkangiri, 19 from Keonjhar, 16 from Bolangir, 12 from Bargarh, 12 from Kendrapara, 11 from Jharsuguda, 10 from Nayagarh, nine from Boudh, eight from Nuapada, seven from Mayurbhanj, five from Dhenkanal, four from Bhadrak, two each from Angul and Jagatsinghpur and one each from Deogarh and Kalahandi.
With this, total recoveries in the state now stand at 24,482.
Meanwhile, Odisha’s COVID-19 death toll mounted to 216 as nine more patients succumbed to the infection, while 1,384 new cases pushed its tally to 37,681 Tuesday. As many as 889 new cases were reported from quarantine centres, while 495 people tested positive for the infection during contact tracing.
