Recruitment rally for Territorial Army from Dec 17

Bhubaneswar: The 120 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) Bihar is organising a recruitment rally for domiciled Indian nationals belonging to Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar at 120 Infantry Battalion campus here  from December 17 to 22.

According to a release issued by the Commanding Officer of 120 Infantry Battalion (TA) Bihar, the rally aims at filling up vacancies in the posts of soldier (general duty), soldier clerk, soldier (chef), soldier (washer man), soldier (house keeper), soldier (tailor), soldier (carpenter), soldier (dresser) and soldier (equipment repair) in the Territorial Army.

The candidates from Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh have been instructed to attend the rally December 17 while those from Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh would report December 18. Candidates from Odisha were advised to attend the rally December 19 and those of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar December 20.

Eligible candidates of respective states of domicile volunteering to join the Territorial Army have been asked to report at the battalion campus here at 6am for screening on the said dates. The candidates are required to bring with them the academic certificates in original along with two sets of copies of the certificates duly attested by a gazetted officer.

Scrutiny of documents, medical test and selection of candidates will be held at the venue after physical tests. Medical test of balance candidates will be held December 21 and 22.

Interested and desirous persons having qualification of Class X and Plus II of any stream with a minimum of 60 per cent marks in aggregate and 50 per cent in individual subjects with proficiency in computer and typing will be given additional weightage for soldier (clerk).

For the posts of soldier (general duty), candidates must have passed Matriculation with 45 per cent marks in aggregate and 33 per cent in individual subjects or qualified in higher class in Class XII or above).

In addition to educational qualifications, the candidates should have requisite physical standard with a minimum height of 160 cm, weight of 50 kg and chest 77 cm with a minimum expansion of 5 cm.
