Red posters resurface in Rayagada district

Rayagada/Kalyansinghpur: Maoist posters have resurfaced in Niyamagiri region in Rayagada district, reports said Friday. The BamsadharaNagabali-Ghumusura (Baghuna) Mao committee has pasted four Mao posters at Parsali village under Kalyansinghpur block. In the letters, the Red rebels demanded to ban organisations like ‘Shining Kalahandi’ and ‘Opilipi’ as these organisations “acted like brokers of Vedanta company”.

In the letter, the ultras called for mass agitation against the mining works at Niyamagiri hills to protest against handing over forest land rights to capitalists by snatching the tribals’ land. The poster, which also warned against making Niyamagiri a tourist centre, was allegedly put up by CPI Maoists and Baghuna divisional committee. If a tourist centre is constructed at Niyamagiri, then outsiders will play with the modesty of the Dangaria girls and ladies, Dangaria language, tradition, and culture will be hampered, the poster read. Do not present Dangaria people like animals, and behave with them rudely, the poster added along with the demand to construct a model school and a TB hospital.
