Rehearsal for Bargarh Dhanu Yatra begins

Bargarh: Additional District Magistrate Tapiram Majhi Sunday inaugurated the rehearsal session for the Bargarh Dhanu Yatra at Kalyan Mandap in Gandhi Square here.

All the artistes including Bhubaneswar Pradhan, who is essaying the character of demon king Kansa this year, participated in the rehearsal.

The world’s largest open-air theatre, Bargarh Dhanu Yatra, will start from January 11 and conclude January 21. The district administration and the organising committee are making every effort to make the festival which is in its 70th year a grand affair and success.

Sureshwar Satpathy, secretary, Dhanu Yatra Mahotsav Committee, core committee members Sushil Mohapatra, Kishore Mishra, joint convener Ashok Behera, advisor Nakula Badi, Harihara Mishra and Tarachand Mohapatra were present at the function and supervised the rehearsal.

Similarly, the rehearsal for Bargarh Dhanu Yatra’s Gopapur artistes started at Ambapali Gajapati Mandap December 20.
