Ganjam: The body of a minor boy was found hanging from a tree in Ramachandrapur village under Patapur police limits in Ganjam district.
The deceased has been identified as Rahul Bisoi. He was pursuing his Plus-II second year in a college near their village.
Although the exact cause of the death is yet to be ascertained, some of his friends said that he died by suicide over a failed love affair while his family members term it as a case of murder.
Sources said that the villagers spotted Rahul’s body hanging from a tree Sunday morning. They immediately alerted the family members and police about the same.
Rahul’s friends said that he had confessed his love to a girl but the latter rejected him. Due to mental pressure Rahul killed himself, suspected friends.
On the other hand, his family members claim that some people murdered Rahul over past enmity with them. The family has lodged an FIR at Patapur police station.
Police sources claimed that the post mortem report will reveal the cause of the death but initial probe is hinting at suicide.
