Jhumpura: Locals alleged irregularities in a PMGSY road project being executed in Jhumpura block of Keonjhar district.

Locals said that the work is being botched up and it has been left incomplete at some places.

The rural development (RD) department had received some complaints in this regard, a report said.

The RD department is laying the PMGSY road from Durgapur to Asuria. Blacktopping is going on for the 9-km stretch.

The cost of the repair work has been estimated at Rs 50 lakh.

Tribal people of Durganpur, Andharakhamani, Khuntapada, Brakhandia and Asuria alleged that the blacktopping is substandard as it gets peeled off.

Assistant engineer of RD department, Balabhadra Marandi, said he had sent an engineer to the spot and action will be taken only after receiving a report.
