Bhubaneswar: The State Election Commission (SEC), Odisha Tuesday announced that repolling for 45 booths will be held February 23, 2022 based on suggestions received from district collectors.
The repolling will begin at 9 AM and will continue till 3 PM, SEC said.
Addressing a press conference in Bhubaneswar, State Election Commission Secretary, Rabindra Sahu said that polling was affected due to different reasons including violence, errors in ballot paper folding and other disturbances during the first and second phases of the ongoing panchayat election.
Worth mentioning, the three-tier panchayat election is being held in five phases – February 16, February 18, February 20, February 22 and February 24. The counting of votes will take place February 26, 27 and 28.
The State Election Commission revealed that over 2.79 crore people are eligible to cast their vote in these rural polls.
