‘Right time for cadets to set a goal in life’

Bhubaneswar: To commemorate the golden jubilee year, BJEM School observed the NCC Day here, Sunday. Joining the programme as chief guest, Col Sudeep Sinha, Commanding Officer, 6 (O), Bn. NCC Puri hoisted the NCC flag, and witnessed the parade. Addressing the cadets, he said, “You all are at a stage of life when you need to set a goal for yourself.

To achieve your aim, follow three mantras of success passion, sincerity and hardwork.” School chairman Raghunath Mishra advised the cadets to work hard and try to join any of the armed forces because it is the only opportunity to serve the motherland. Pratap Kumar Jena, manager of the school said that there cannot be any service like the service to motherland and BJEM School is proud to have many of its students doing this great service. School Principal Sandhya Jena the welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of NCC Day.

Speaking on the occasion, the guest and alumni of the school, Captain Amulya Ratna Mishra, Indian Navy emphasized on leadership qualities for joining the armed forces and asked the students to develop this trait in them.

Ex-cadet and Prime Minister’s Best Cadet Awardee, RDC-2014 Manish Banerjee encouraged the students to join NCC during their school life to serve the nation later. Vice Principal of the School Pallabi Mohapatra said NCC is the mission of life; it’s not only about uniform or uniformity, but it’s about unity.
