Bhubaneswar: The Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal Monday announced a pre-event roadshow in Bhubaneswar, as a precursor to the third Global Maritime India Summit (GMIS) 2023.
The roadshow is scheduled to take place September 5 bringing together government dignitaries, industry captains, maritime stakeholders, and enthusiasts.
The Union Minister will grace the occasion through a special video message, joined by Odisha government officials and Ministry of Ports and Shipping.
Sonowal said the Ministry is orchestrating the GMIS, scheduled to take place from October 17 to 19, 2023, at the heart of India’s maritime domain, Paradip Port, which plays a vital and irreplaceable role, forming a crucial foundation for the nation’s journey of progress.
The significant and remarkable input from this area enhances both trade and links, thus nurturing a wider expanse of economic growth.
More than just a maritime entry point, this port embodies the economic strength of the region and stands as a concrete symbol of our steadfast commitment to boosting trade, promoting connections, and nurturing social unity.”
He hoped that the deliberations and partnerships during this occasion would chart the course for a prosperous Global Maritime India Summit 2023 and would provide a forum for all invested parties to uncover and leverage the vast opportunities within the maritime domain.
The event will further showcase stimulating dialogues that are expected to redefine the journey of the maritime sector.
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways extends an invitation to all ship owners, seafarers, Ports, placement agencies, PSUs, and all other stakeholders to join the roadshow and take part in shaping the dialogue around the future of the Indian maritime sector.
