Bhubaneswar: Robbers in Bhubaneswar allegedly attacked and looted valuables from the parents of Balasore Superintendent of Police Sagarika Nath, a source said Monday.
According to the source, the alleged robbers stopped the vehicle of Nath’s parents while they were travelling to their residence in Ghatikia area of Bhubaneswar.
The source informed that the miscreants on their two-wheeler intercepted the vehicle of the victims and attempted to snatch cash and gold jewellery from them.
The looters went on to assault the victims who resisted the robbery. The armed assailants also damaged the vehicle, the source added.
Later, the robbers fled from the scene after some locals gathered there.
An FIR in this regard has been lodged at Bharatpur Police Station by Nath’s parents. A probe in this regard has been launched.

Police have seized the abandoned two-wheeler that the robbers used during the incident.
Two similar incidents of robbery were reported in Bhubaneswar this week. In one incident, two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched a woman’s gold chain when she was taking a walk on the road near Vani Vihar.
In another incident that took place in Laxmi Sagar area in Bhubaneswar, miscreants on a two-wheeler robbed a woman’s gold chain. In the CCTV clip, the woman is seen chasing the miscreants to reclaim her chain, but the miscreants flee on their two-wheeler.
