Rotary club holds health camp

BHUBANESWAR: Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar in association with Bhubaneswar Bar Association and Blood Bank of Capital Hospital organised a unique event of blood donation alongside a Health Check up camp at the office of the Bhubaneswar Bar association here Saturday.

In the highly successful voluntary Blood donation drive, 85 units of blood were collected with lawyers and Rotarians coming forward in large numbers. Simultaneously, 135 persons were provided with free health check up.

The programme was inaugurated by District Judge, Khorda, Justice S N Mishra who expressed deep satisfaction at the event which is aimed at providing a noble service to humanity. President Tanmay Mohanty of Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar along with his team of dedicated Rotarians once again underlined the Rotary theme of Service above self.

President, Bhubaneswar Bar Association Shri Durga Madhab Mishra, Secretary Shri Anjan Kumar Samantaray and Former Secretary Rotarian Tapas Ranjan Das played a crucial role in organising the event and ensuring participation of maximum number of lawyers in the blood donation and having their general health check up done.

While Debashis Mishra, in-charge of Bhubaneswar Blood bank, arranged for his team of technicians to carry out the drive, he personally went round supervising the entire process and monitoring patients’ condition. Likewise, Rotarian Sangram Mohapatra along with his team of technicians carried out the Health check up activities.

Other Rotarians carried out various associated activities starting from registration of donors and patients for check up, carrying out checks of basic parameters like weight, entry in prescription slips, writing of Certificates and helping persons with the processes.
