Rourkela Airport expansion: Pujari to hold discussion

Rourkela Airport expansion

Rourkela: Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management Suresh Pujari will soon convene a meeting with all relevant departments and stakeholders to address issues concerning the expansion of Rourkela Airport. Pujari said this during his visit to Rourkela January 25, when he discussed the matter with ADM Rourkela, Raghunathpalli MLA Durga Tanty, and other local officials.

Speaking to media persons, Suresh Pujari highlighted that land is required for the airport’s expansion, noting that the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) holds significant land which the state government intends to reclaim for this purpose. He referenced the successful upgrade of Jharsuguda Airport to international status, citing similar improvements planned for Rourkela. The expansion will include a night landing system, additional land for the runway, and more bays for aircraft.
