Rourkela lady ASI’s death: Husband alleges murder

Rourkela lady ASI death

Rourkela: A few days after Rourkela Assistant Collector Sushmita Minj’s mysterious death, lady ASI Alisa Narmi Lugun — who was reportedly assigned for Minj’s safety — also died, a source said Monday.

According to the source, Alisa — posted at Udit Nagar police station – had gone to an accident spot Sunday evening. Later, as she felt uneasy she was rushed to the hospital where she was declared dead, added the source.

However, the husband of Alisa alleged that he had seen a photograph of her where one side of her cheek was swollen and she was bleeding from the mouth. He alleged that Alisa was roughed up by some people who were present at the sight of bus-car accident. He demanded strict action against the culprits who are part of this alleged murder.

Earlier, the brother of the late Rourkela Assistant Collector Sushmita Minj filed an FIR, claiming that ASI Alisha was assigned to ensure the safety of his sister, who was going through mental depression. He further accused the officials for not allowing the late Assistant Collector to return home and accommodating her stay at a hotel. A few days later, she was discovered dead under mysterious circumstances.

The family members also alleged that Sushmita’s body that was recovered from a pond in Centurion Park, located in the jurisdiction of Plant Site Police in Rourkela, had injury marks.

“We suspect that my sister Sushmita Minj knew about the secret of ADM and Collector. So, they did not help my sister during her difficult times and kept her alone and did not provide her with a medical facility,” read the FIR of Sushmita Minj’s brother.

“Moreover, Lady ASI Alisha was assigned for the safety of my sister. Where was she when my sister was murdered,” he questioned.

In the meantime, Minj’s relatives have opted to approach the Orissa High Court to request a CBI investigation into the case and Alisa’s husband has also alleged that her wife was murdered.

Rourkela police’s reaction to these allegations could not be obtained.
