Rourkela: The District Centre-cum-Science Park and Planetarium, which is being constructed at Chhend here, will be completed by the end of February nect year, a minister said Saturda During a visit to the construction site.
Minister for Science and Technology Ashok Panda informed that the park will be completed by February next year. Work on the park began April 29 in 2021 and was supposed to be finished last year.
Built at an initial cost of `16.81 crore, the project has been delayed by more than a year and four months. Interestingly, the date of completion on the project declaration board has been blurred, probably to hide it from public view during the minister’s visit.
However, a closer look revealed that the project was to be over in July, 2022. Panda also informed that another `4 crore will be spent on the project taking the total cost of the project to `20 crore. Initially, a big public park was planned as Chhend has more than 15,000 households.
