RPF reunites 75-year-old with family, wins praises

Puri: The Puri Railway Protection Force (RPF) has won praises from several quarters for reuniting a 75-year-old man from Anandpur area of Keonjhar district with his family.

Jayanand Nath was missing from his home since January this year.

According to sources, RPF sub-inspector PK Raul had spotted Nath in a passengers’ waiting room at Puri railway station September 7. Nath was suffering from high fever, sources said.

Raul rushed Nath to a hospital at the railway station. Raul was able to collect the address and other details of Nath after the latter’s recovery.

Raul later contacted Anandpur police in Keonjhar and informed them about Nath. Raul came to know that a complaint had been filed with Anandpur police with regard to Nath’s missing from his home.

Subsequently, the RPF sub-inspector contacted Nath’s son Dillip over phone. Soon Dillip and a few of his relatives reached Puri and took Nath home.

“My father went missing around eight months ago. We had left all hopes to trace him. We got back my father due to the blessings of Lord Jagannath and the help from Puri RPF,” Dillip said.

Many tourists, locals and social activists have praised the Puri RPF for their effort to reunite Nath with his family, sources said.
