Bhograi: A master plan of Rs 1000 crore has been drawn up for boosting beach tourism along the Udaypur-Talsari beach under this block in Balasore. It was stated by the tourism department.
A team of high level officials of the tourism department visited the beach and held a review meeting at here Saturday.
Local MLA and chairman of the district planning board, Ananta Das apprised the officials about the previous condition of the beach and later development of infrastructure along the beach.
At the review meeting, the MLA said that the forest department has 50 acres of land along the beach and it has agreed to hand over the land to the tourism department.
“After handover of the land, there will be no bottlenecks for development of the beach,” the MLA observed.
The state government has undertaken work of bright lighting, marine drive, a foot bridge and renovation of a park.
The meeting was attended by director of tourism Nirmal Chandra Mishra, divisional manager (Finance) Pranab Kumar Chand, executive engineer of the Irrigation department Sanjay Kumar Mallick, SDPO Priyabrata Singh, officials and many people’s representatives.
