Rs 25,000 for every woman if we come to power: Dharmendra

Jagannathprasad: BJP will give Rs 25,000 to every woman if voted to power in 2019, announced Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

He was responding to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s announcement during a women’s convention in Puri that the state government will provide interest free loans to all SHGs.

BJP lashed out at BJD and alleged that the regional party made the announcement to lure women voters ahead of the general elections.

“If BJP comes to power in 2019 instead of sanctioning Rs 15,000 per SHG, we will give Rs 25,000 to each woman,” Pradhan said.

During the ‘Jan Sampark Padyatra O Jawab Maguchhi Odisha’ held at Jagannathprasad, Pradhan said BJD government poses threat for the development of Odisha.

“After ruling the state for 19 years, BJD government has miserably failed to provide drinking water, irrigation, education and healthcare facilities to the people. It’s only concern is to publicize self,” said Pradhan.

“The state-ruling party has failed to provide farmers their basic rights. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving Rs 1,750 per quintal of paddy to farmers as minimum support price. But due to the faulty process of Naveen Patnaik-led government, farmers are compelled to sell their paddy for Rs 1,000 to 1,200 per quintal. However, still BJD leaders are going to Delhi for shedding crocodile tears showcasing their sympathy for the peasants. Even the Chief Minister has failed to provide irrigation facility in the district of his own assembly constituency. Prime Minister Modi has decided to supply piped LPG to all households in Ganjam by next year.”

While asking the people of Jagannathprasad block if whether they are provided with piped drinking water supply, Pradhan said the government has failed to provide a drop of drinking water even though it has been ruling the state for 19 years.

“The State government is hatching a conspiracy to defame the Ujwala Yojana. Before BJP came to power in the Centre, there were only 749 LPG consumers out of 34,000 families of Jagannathprasad block. As of now, the number has grown to 28,291. The Chief Minister has declared to provide interest free loans to women. Previous year, it was said that there are 5,23,000 SHGs in the state. Later 7,23,000 were formed across Odisha, government records stated. Yesterday, announcement was made to sanction loans for six lakh SHGs. So where are the rest three lakh SHGs that was mentioned in government figures. Prime Minister had promised the citizens that he will initiate steps to sanction Rs 12,000 to all poor families and women while addressing the nation August 15, 2014.

Each and every state accepted the proposal. Even as Telangana government is non-BJP, it also hailed the decision. However, Odisha didn’t accept PM’s proposal. Even though the PM sent Rs 12,000 for each poor family, the state government didn’t take any step to build the toilets as there was no scope of bribery and corruption in it. The PM yesterday requested the Chief Minister to implement the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Despite repeated requests, the state government is delaying the process to implement the welfare programme. Odisha’s youths are going to other states and working there as bondage labourers. Was this the dream of Biju Babu?” Pradhan asked.

Meanwhile he urged the people to join the ‘Jawab Maguchhi Odisha’ agitation to form new Odisha and new Bharat.
